  • Lieutenant-Colonel Henry P. Kingsbury was relieved as Jefferson Guard commandant by Lieutenant-Colonel Samuel W. Fountain, 4th Cavalry, United States Army. Colonel Fountain served as commandant till the guard was mustered out January 31, 1905.
