The Negritos were the aborigines of the Philippines. Darker in skin, by 1904 their population had decreased to 23,000. They were wanderers, and were very skillful with the bow and arrow.
The Manguianes (now referred to as Mangyans) occupied a special section of the Negrito Village, they were from the Island of Mindoro.
