The World's Fair National Bank occupied a building on Plaza of St. Louis, 84 by 54 feet and two stories high.
Description[edit | edit source]
This institution was a joint enterprise of seventeen of the leading bank and trust companies of St. Louis, and transacted the World's Fair grounds business for all of them. It was capitalized at $200,000 (equivalent to $6,031,852 in 2021); but the total money and resources of the institution's backing was several hundred millions, making it probably the most powerful financial concern in America. The bank was open till 7pm every week day.
