- The St. Louis School and Museum of Fine Arts, a department of Washington University, was rededicated in 1906 as the St. Louis Museum of Fine Arts and moved to Forest Park, into the Palace of Fine Arts building, constructed for the 1904 World s Fair.
January 13, 1906[edit | edit source]
- Ferris Observation Wheel was run for one last revolution that Saturday. Riders were W.G. Bennett, Chicago House Wrecking Co. superintendent, and at least 2 others (possibly F.H. Burgess, a KC engine company rep, and an unknown Post-Dispatch reporter or Abraham Harris, Chicago House Wrecking Co. President, and "a few others"). An article in the Post-Dispatch chronicled the experience in the following day's Sunday edition but appears to contain multiple inaccuracies and misstatements.

- shipped back to Chicago where it was eventually cut up by acetylene torch for recycling & reuse. &
June, 1906[edit | edit source]
- The voters approved a Bond Issue for the Forest Park Foul Water Sewer.
- Recast statue of the Apotheosis of St. Louis is unveiled at its new location at the top of Art Hill, in front of the St. Louis Art Museum (formerly the Palace of Fine Arts).
- City and past Fair Officials joined in unveiling the bronze "Apotheosis of St. Louis" statue in front of the STL Art Museum (former Palace of Fine Arts).
